This DVD package for the film The Shining reinvents the representation of Kubrick’s film by steering clear of images like Jack Nicholson’s possessed face, bloodied corridors and identical twin girls.
Instead, the package takes the form of a picture frame similar to the one in which the main character Jack finds himself stuck, inside the Overlook Hotel.
A reflective disc acts as a mirror to reveal the viewer as taking the place of Jack’s fate and liner notes are hidden amongst articles and pages of repetitive nonsense.
